According to Gameinformer, PlayerUnknown has revealed two new maps for their game Battlegrounds. The game is currently in Early Access on Steam, but it seems the developers are eager to add more content.
Though these maps should be considered as in-progress and subject to major change until the game is out in full in it’s final stage.
The maps are of the unrefined flavor, but no less detailed. The first is in the Yugoslavian territories, on an island in the Adriatic Sea. The island has a dense forest on one side, and a warm coast on the other. In the center is a small range of mountains, apparently the “snowy” kind, as the island is only 8x8km. Though certainly possible in real life, such a range has nothing on our continental divide.
The second map is much smaller, at half the size. It is not as cold and temperate as the first map, but instead consists of a desert canyon. A small town resides in the middle, and the main bridge out is broken. There’s no escaping easily, to be sure. The town, however, is not populated. According to Gameinformer it was long lost to the sandstorms that now slowly work to bury the town in history. Some small towns survive, relying heavily on the river that lines the southern edge of the map.
These maps are certainly diverse, as often required for such a vast online shooter as Battlegrounds. Have you been playing the game? What do you think of it so far? What will these new maps add to your gameplay? Let us know in the comments below!
