EA has announced that there will be a multiplayer beta for Star Wars: Battlefront 2. It will come on all systems, including the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The beta will begin October 4 for those that pre-ordered the game, October 6 for everyone else, and end on October 9. The entire game itself will come out November 17, 2017.
During the beta, people will be able to take on the role of whichever hero or villain they choose in a couple of battle modes. The first, Galactic Assault, is placed in Theed City where a 20 v 20 battle takes place. Last one standing wins. The second is Starfighter Assault, which takes the battle to the air in various starcrafts from the series.
Within the multiplayer beta, there are four different class you can be: the Assault Trooper (who can move fast and hit hard in close to medium combat), Heavy Trooper (the warrior of the group, with a heavy payload and slower movements), Officer (the support healer that can also provide buffs to team members), and Specialist (the sniper who can lay traps and scout ahead on the battlefield).
And don’t forget, you’ll be able to have your pick of any character from the Star Wars universe. My personal favorite is still Darth Maul, as he seems to move across the battlefield with expert precision and cuts down enemies easily. Besides, how can you not love a dual blade – I mean dual light saber?
Keep in mind that any progress you make during the multiplayer beta via achievements, characters, or any other status indicators will not transfer to the main Star Wars: Battlefront 2 when it comes out.
In addition, this beta offer ends 3 days before the start of the Early Access period, though the Yoda Epic Lightsaber Master Star Card that comes with the pre-order will not end until October 9, 2017.
