Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Adds Four Character to Roster

Four new characters for the Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite roster have been revealed at the San Diego Comic Con and captured by an intrepid audience member who managed to capture the trailer. As it hasn’t been posted to Marvel’s channels yet, we’re sticking to the lesser quality one for now.

The characters are Nemesis (from Resident Evil), Mike Haggar (Final Fight), Frank West (Dead Rising), and the best of them all, Spider-Man. We see all four characters in action, Spider-Man entering the stage with style, of course. In the trailer, all use a few of their special moves to get the job done. Spider-Man and Frank West team up together to inflict even more damage. Gamora’s Infinity Stone move is shown as well, coloring the screen green until her attack is over.

For those that don’t know, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is the sixth instalment in the series that includes fighters from both the Marvel and Capcom universe. The main feature of the game series is that players can team up with other characters for tag team battles, usually a three vs three format but Infinite adds a two against two mode. In these battles, the assist mode is replaced with the combo system, where players can switch between their chosen character to form continuous combos.

Gamora’s infinity stone move is a part of the new gameplay mechanic included in the game. This mechanic allows players to use unique abilities and stat boosts according to whichever stone they choose. The idea is that before each match, each player selects the Infinity Stone they want. The stone gives them an Infinity Surge, which differs depending on the stone chosen. The Power Stone, for example, stuns your enemy, whereas the Space Stone brings them closer for strong attacks. What Gamora used to turn the stage green was the Infinity Storm, which can only activated once the player fills their Infinity meter and gives attacks a boost for a limited time.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC come September 19.
