Tequila Works has announced that RiME is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 14, 2017 for North America and November 17 for European territories. There won’t be a regular physical copy available, but the digital version will be at the Nintendo eShop for $29.99 USD. But if you absolutely want a physical version, there is a special one available that also gives you the digital download code for the game’s soundtrack. This special edition cost $39.99 USD.
You might recall, the reason RiME doesn’t have a regular physical copy for the Switch is because of the cost to make a cartridge proved quite costly for the indie developers. Thusly, they were forced to increase the price of the physical copy, hence the special edition. So if you’re a budget gamer, I’m afraid you’ll have to invest in a larger SD card for your Switch if you want to keep your saves on there.
That said, RiME is certainly worth it. The story is told wordlessly through color, light, music, and the beautiful sweeping landscapes. RiME is absolutely all about discovery and invoking that sense of exploration towards something new and exciting. If you’re not discovering the natural beauty of the game, the cute little creatures and sprawling ruins are sure to captivate your attention.
There is always something to drive you forward, whether it’s how the young boy with the red scarf happened upon the island, or what the puzzles are really leading to. Is it magic? Is it something more sinister? Who is the figure in red just beyond? Why is the fox helping you?
There’s so much more to RiME and it will keep you interested and motivated the whole time. If you’d like a more in-depth look as to how RiME does this, be sure to check this editorial.
RiME is available now on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
