The cheaters causing havoc within PUBG just got a bit of an extension. The folks over at PUBG Corporation have confirmed that they will be delaying their anti-cheat update. However, as of today, the studio is blocking the use of ReShade entirely.
Many people have been utilizing ReShade in an attempt to get a slight edge on the competition within PUBG. ReShade is a post-processing injector. Meaning, it helps to make the overall look of the game smoother with better textures and visuals. Controversially though, it allows for less pop-in. This allows players with ReShade installed to see their competition at a distance before their competition can see them.
A PUBG community manager hit the game’s forums early this morning to break down the news:
“As announced, the new anti-cheat solution that was to be applied today has been delayed. However, BattlEye, a part of our anti-cheat solution, has blocked ReShade. For you to run the game, you must uninstall ReShade. If the game files are already damaged, you must also reinstall the game. ReShade not only behaves like a cheat program but can also be used for cheating, and must therefore be blocked. Please be advised that this is a permanent block.”
The official PUBG Twitter account went on to cite “an unexpected issue” during testing for the patch’s delay:
PC players, the patch for the anti-cheat update has been delayed, as an unexpected issue has occurred while testing its compatibility. We will soon update you when it will be released. Thank you for your understanding.

PUBG Corp. is taking cheating extremely seriously. It appears as though they are full invested in bringing an even playing field to all of those seeking that glorious chicken dinner.
Last month, the developers banned over a million accounts from the game that were found to be using cheat software. That followed bans of 100,000 people in November and another 100,000 in early January.
A new rollout date hasn’t been announced yet for the anti-cheating update. But we suspect the team will have it ready for release within the next week or so.
