Blizzard might have just revealed who the next Overwatch hero will be. Over at their official Overwatch Twitter, they posted an “After-Action Report” written by Captain Ana Amari.Promotional image for Overwatch

This report refers to a mission called “White Dome” in which she, Reinhardt, Torbjörn, and unknown character Private First Class Emre Sarioglu. Nothing else is said of Emre, but the team was sent to somewhere near Istanbul. They were there “to deal with a remaining pocket of omnic resistance.”

For those that may not know, omnics are robots built by the Omnica Corporation. At first, they were simply service workers. But during the Omnic Crisis, the company began to produce robots with military skills. Unfortunately, they were hacked by god programs and had to be subdued by several military forces, including Overwatch. In the aftermath, omnics are treated as second-class citizens in most parts of the Overwatch world.

Save for Numbani, which is where Orisa comes from. There they are viewed as helpful guardians and soldiers. Her creator, the young Efi Oladele, was determined to reverse the stigma against omnics and create one bent on doing one thing: helping humans. This includes everything from helping old ladies across the road, to assisting Overwatch in their current efforts.

All the same, the mission Blizzard refers to seemed to go as planned until the team was ambushed. Luckily, the team managed to suppress the omnics without any casualties, but serious injuries for Tobjörn. This might be where he lost his eye and arm. Nonetheless, it seems to be Reinhardt that saved the day and Ana recommended him for promotion.

That’s it, we don’t know who Emre is. But whoever they are, they might be the 27th hero for the game.

What kind of special skills do you hope the 27th hero will have? What class needs to be added to? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
