Epic has announced that things are about to get real in Fortnite Battle Royale. The developer is introducing a new Limited Time Mode they’re calling Solo Showdown. And with it, the game will become “the ultimate test of survival.”
This mode sounds as if it’s truly for the best of the best. Here’s Epic’s summary of the new Limited Time Mode:
“In the Solo Showdown LTM you will be placed against other self-selected competitors making this the ultimate test of survival. Placements in this limited time mode will be specially tracked and determine rewards you receive at the end of the event. The top 100 players will be awarded.”
More From Nerd Much?:
In order to be eligible for ranking, players must participate in at least 50 Solo Showdown matches. Upon the conclusion of each match, you’ll earn a number of points based upon your final positioning. 1st place will get you 100 points, 2nd 94 points, 3rd 91 and so on. Cumulative scores will then be generated from across the player’s’ 50 matches.
There are some pretty substantial prizes to those that can place themselves in the top 100. All of which consist of Fortnite’s V-Bucks currency, though. First place will earn themselves a cool 50,000 V-Bucks. 2nd through 4th will get 25,000 V-Bucks. 5th through 50th earn 13,500 V-Bucks and 51st through 100th will receive 7,500.
All the standard rules and match regulations of Solo mode apply here. It’s just that you’re being tracked for the first 50 matches you play within Solo Showdown to see where you stand. The mode will end on Monday, May 21st at 10:00 a.m. Eastern, 7:00 a.m. Pacific.
