After getting our first glimpse at the game just about a month ago, Square Enix has provided us a couple of new trailers and a Left Alive release date. In today’s Release Date Announcement trailer, we get a closer look at the trio of primary characters. And we finally get a little bit of in-game mech action as well.
As is heavily touted by the publisher, Left Alive comes to us from another impressive trio: Toshifumi Nabeshima, Takayuki Yanase and Yoji Shinkawa. Nabeshima is renowned for his work as the director on the Armored Core series. Yanase is known for his efforts on several mech-based series, including Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Xenoblade Chronicles X. And Shinkawa is handling Left Alive’s character design, which you can see is heavily inspired by Shinkawa’s earlier work on the Metal Gear series.
Square Enix states that Left Alive “tells a dark and gritty story of survival from the perspective of three different protagonists as they struggle to escape the war-torn city.” The publisher also confirmed today that the Left Alive release date is being set for March 5th.
Those that purchase the physical Day One Edition of the game will be entitled to the Survival Pack DLC. That package includes “plenty of useful items to help players survive”. Specifically mentioned are an ammo pack, light body armor, a recovery pack, a grenade pack, and a Kyluch weapon.
