While many dogged Nintendo fans are busy trying to find details on the next Nintendo Direct, Nintendo is out here just dropping new trailers willy-nilly. And because of that, we now officially have the Yoshi’s Crafted World release date.
The Yoshi’s Crafted World release date came within the recently released Story Trailer for the game. And it should come as no surprise that the duo of Baby Bowser and Kamek are once again the crux of the dinosaur society’s issues.
A pack of Yoshi’s are hanging around admiring the Sundream Stone which sits atop Yoshi Island’s highest peak. The Sundream Stone is a pedestal of sorts which houses a gem-set of 5 differently colored stones. When together, “Legend has it that this fabled artifact can grant the bearer their wildest dreams!” Sound familiar?
Baby Bowser and Kamek quickly make their presence felt in the new trailer. Using Kamek’s wand, the dastardly duo attempt to make off with the Sundream Stone and the 5 gems it holds. The Yoshi’s fight back though, and in the ensuing struggle, the apparently sentient Sundream Stone decides to cast the gems its holding throughout Yoshi Island.
As the gems spread throughout the world, you get a quick glimpse at some of the levels within the game. You’ll begin in a forest like stage and then progress to a town with a train station. After that it looks like we’ll head to a coastal village. There’s also what looks to be a desert pyramid stage, some sort of Aztec like structure, and we can see a flowery locale before our view of the map cuts off.
If the rumored January Direct proves true, we’ll likely get one last look at the game before it arrives on shelves. That’s happening soon. Nintendo has set the Yoshi’s Crafted World release date for March 29th.
