Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Release Date Set for July

During The Game Awards 2018, expectations erupted when fans saw footage of Marvel characters crossing their screens. Hoping for our first look at Square Enix’s untitled Avengers game, we instead got a reveal for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. The game looked great though, and it shocked many when it was revealed to be exclusive for Switch. And today, we know officially when it’s coming, with the announcement of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 release date: July 19, 2019.

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe red hot following Avengers: Infinity War, and the launch of Avengers: Endgame being just a couple weeks, it only makes sense that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order features a story revolving around The Mad Titan and his quest for the Infinity Stones.

Nintendo is publishing the project with Team Ninja handling development. The story synopsis reads “Super Heroes unite in a race across iconic locations in the Marvel Universe to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos and The Black Order use them to unleash cosmic chaos.” Sounds, familiar, eh?

The game features up to four people playing together via local or online co-op. With the added ability drop in or out of the game whenever they please.

As it stands right now, there are only three other big video game release dates set for July 2019: Dragon Quest Builders 2, Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

In addition to today’s Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 release date reveal, we also have the inclusion of four more playable characters in Black Panther, Deadpool, Spider-Gwen and Doctor Strange.

This puts the total roster of playable characters up to 27 as of today. The complete line up also features Black Widow, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Crystal, Daredevil, Drax, Falcon, Gamora, Groot and Rocket, Hulk, Iron Fist, Iron Man, Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Lockjaw, Nick Fury, Nightcrawler, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Star-Lord, Storm, Thor, Venom, and Wolverine.

Nintendo and Team Ninja have put their upcoming title in the midst of the summer, setting the Marvel Ultimate Alliance release date for July 19th at the standard $59.99.
