With John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum hitting theaters next week, what better time could there be to announce a tie-in game to get the attention of gamers across the globe? Lionsgate and Good Shepherd Entertainment have announced John Wick Hex, an upcoming title for PC and Mac coming to us from Bithell Games.
You likely recognize the Bithell Games brand which stems from its originator, Mike Bithell. Bithell is behind an array of impressive, adult-themed games throughout his career. Some of these include Thomas Was Alone, Volume, Subsurface Circular and Quarantine Circular.
As for John Wick Hex, the game is described as “a fast-paced, action-oriented strategy game”. Good Shepherd says the development team worked “in close cooperation with the creative and stunt teams behind the films”. Thus, the final product feels like “fight-choreographed chess brought to life as a video game, capturing the series’ signature gun fu style while expanding its story universe.”
The narrative within John Wick Hex’s main story was crafted exclusively for the title. You can hear Lance Reddick’s Charon in the trailer above. And Ian McShane’s Winston is confirmed for the game as well. Lionsgate and Good Shepherd promise additional casting news is coming at a later date.
As you progress through the game, you’ll acquire new suits, locations and weapons for Wick. Each altering the way in which you’ll tackle the various missions within John Wick Hex. Ammunition is finite and every decision is crucial. Making the game playout much like scenes from the movie do but with a unique graphic noir art design specifically designed for the game.
It’s unclear if John Wick Hex will launch alongside John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum on May 17th or sometime later. When it does, Good Shepherd confirmed the title will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
