If you’re looking to play a console RTS on your PS4, prepare yourself for some great news: a brand new Sudden Strike game has been announced.
Kalypso Media and Kite Games have partnered up to bring an all-new Sudden Strike experience to PC, Mac, Linux, and PlayStation 4, bringing the previously dormant franchise to consoles for the first time.
Sudden Strike 4, as the upcoming RTS is officially titled, will place players into three extensive campaigns set among various battlefields set in World War II. Players will have the option to command the British and American, German or Soviet troops, leading over 100 different types of units into battle. Some of these military units include a German bomber Heinkel He111, a Russian T-34 tank, and the German Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger, the first armored vehicle to mount the KwK 36 88-mm gun.
Players will have the choice of nine individual commanders, including notable names such as George Patton and Bernard Montgomery. The game will have over 20 single player scenarios that will test the skill of players.
The last Sudden Strike game to hit the market was in 2008 with the release of Sudden Strike 3, which released to mediocre reviews and little fanfare. Hopefully, this revitalization of the franchise will bring more interest in the franchise.
The Sudden Strike 4 release date has been set for some time in Q2 2017 for all versions. As lovers of the RTS, we’ll be covering the game’s release here at Nerd Much. In fact, we’ll likely add this to our most anticipated games of 2017 list, too.
