The rise of 3D platformers is upon us, as we’re seeing some incredible new games in development that will serve as an ode to the N64 days, paying homage to classics like Banjo Kazooie.
In this week’s episode of The Fish Tank, Garrett discusses his time with Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island at E3 2016 and the hands-on Yooka Laylee toy box demo. And after playing the two, we’re ready to gush over them both as we impatiently await their release. Both games have something unique to offer, and although they have a similar general aesthetic, players will surely notice their differences once they start playing them both.
Skylar & Plux will release in January 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, and Yooka Laylee is set to release in March 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC, and Mac.
This episode will be especially enjoyable for those who love The Notebook. Just watch the intro — you’ll understand what we’re talking about.
