It looks like Microsoft will hold true to their promise as the company will announce a complete list of 100 Xbox One backwards-compatible games on November 9th.
Xbox chief Phil Spencer made the announcement on Twitter yesterday, noting that an updated list of Xbox 360 games that will work on your Xbox One will be released next week.
Over 100 Xbox 360 and XBLA games will immediately become available when the feature launches on November 12th, when the new Xbox One system update is released. We already know some of the Xbox 360 games that will be available when the update drops, including BattleBlock Theater, Gears of War 1-3, Mass Effect, and Banjo-Kazooie. We’ll also note that all upcoming Xbox 360 free Games with Gold will be available on Xbox One as well, so you might want to think about picking up an Xbox One external hard drive to fit all of the games onto your Xbox.
There are many Xbox 360 games we’re wanting to play on our Xbox One, but the game we’re waiting to hear about the most is Skate 3 on Xbox One, which we’re thinking will more likely hit the Xbox One via EA Access. Hopefully, Microsoft will surprise us on Monday when they announce the compatible titles, but we’re not holding our breath.
