THQ Nordic announced today that their game Darksiders: Warmaster Edition will be playable in 4K on the PS4 Pro. If you are unfamiliar with THQ Nordic, THQ combined with Nordic Games to form THQ Nordic back in August. This will be one of their first releases since their union. For those still looking up one or the other be aware that their separate websites will be closing at the beginning of next year.
In the game Darksiders: Warmaster Edition, the first horseman of the apocalypse, War, is on trial for starting a war between heaven and hell after being deceived. In the fighting that ensued evil wins and takes over Earth. Now stripped of his powers and facing a death penalty he is granted the chance to find who is really at fault.
The game boasts a wide array of angelic, earthly, and demonic weapon designs. It also emphasizes character progression through the use of “powerful ancient relics”. And the remastered edition rendering improvements and better shadow quality. The game will be out on the PS4 and Xbox One on November 22nd and on the PC on November 29th. A Wii U release is planned for a later date.
The team has several other projects on their plate as well. THQ Noric is working on a title called Elex which is a completely open world game set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi setting. They hope to fill it with new characters, mutated, creature, deep moral choices, and plenty of action. It even includes jetpack exploration. They are also working on Aquanox: Deep Descent which was funded through Kickstarter and is a continuation of the Aquanox series, composed of multiplayer deep sea exploration games. It also has RPG elements such as mining, looting, salvaging, and trading. Both of these games will also likely be 4K compatible as well.
