Carrie Fisher, our beloved Princess, died tragically yesterday at age 60. Just when we were happy to see her on screen again, she was snatched from us all. There have been so many loving tributes from everyone that knew her as co-stars, friends, and fans. One particular caught the eye of this reporter and it made me both happy and sad.
Harvey Smith, co-creative director of Dishonored, Tweeted “It’s a little thing, but Carrie Fisher was gracious, funny and creatively open when we worked with her for a small role in Dishonored. RIP.”
It took some digging, but I finally found a video that has a few lines from her. She plays the role of Alternate Street Speaker voice, which is essentially what happens if you kill the original guy instead of leaving him be during the Lord Regent mission. I have yet to play a completely lethal run on the game, so I never heard alternate voice personally.
But in this video, you can hear her at 6 minutes and 24 seconds. It’s a small detail to be sure, but I admit it was a little eerie to hear voice again so soon after her death. Like listening to an old friend’s answering machine.
We’ll miss her, but at least we still have her amazing work to look back on.
