If you thought Thimbleweed Park was an adventure game about solving a murder, “you’re *beeping* wrong!” That’s what Ransome the Clown believes in the new Thimbleweed Park trailer.
Ransome is one of five playable characters in this throwback to classic point-and-clicks. If you couldn’t tell already, he has a bit of a potty mouth. Just as he says in the Thimbleweed Park trailer, “a dead body is the least of your problems.” There is a lot going wrong here. Between haunted hotels, giant pigeons, and the town’s founder being obsessed with vacuum tubes, things are messed up.
Many have noticed the similarities between Thimbleweed Park and classics like Lucasfilm’s Maniac Mansion. That makes a lot of sense since the game is being developed by Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick. These are the pair that invented the adventure game genre with Maniac Mansion.
The Thimbleweed Park trailer reminds us how excited we are for the upcoming indie game. Adventure games have been making a comeback in recent years and we are more than okay with that. In just a month or two, the game releases on Xbox One, Windows, Mac, and Linux. Get ready to get your hands dirty with a cast of colorful characters.
