Wolverine 3 is expected to be Hugh Jackman’s final portrayal of the titular character. Joining him this time is The Office co-creator Stephen Merchant.
While his role has not yet been revealed, his background makes us wonder if he will act as the more lighthearted element in the film. Whatever the case, we’re big fans of the actor.
According to Deadline, Richard E Grant will also be joining the cast. Showing up recently in shows like Doctor Who, Girls, and Downton Abbey, Grant will be joining a cast that already includes Patrick Stewart and Boyd Holbrook.
Unless you’ve been watching Netflix’s Narcos, you may not recognize Holbrook. He really does a phenomenal job in that show, and we’re hoping for the same level of acting when he plays the main villain.
Wolverine 3 is being written by David James Kelly from a treatment by director James Mangold. It was Mangold who directed 2013’s The Wolverine. The movie was met with mixed reviews as the titular character did much more talking than fighting. We definitely think it is well worth a watch if you enjoy samurai movies. There are many great scenes with some intense imagery. Plus it’s pretty hard to repeat the mistakes of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Currently, Wolverine 3 is scheduled for a March 3, 2017 release date. With less than a year till its release, we hope to hear some more information soon.
