The Silence Trailer Teases Netflix’s Next Intriguing Horror Flick

If you were a fan of A Quiet Place, Netflix has a new horror movie coming out next month that should be right up your alley. The studio released their The Silence trailer today, showing us a world in which bat-like monsters have taken over and hunt down their prey when they make just the slightest of sounds.

One of the first things you’ll notice from The Silence trailer is that is features a cast full of respected actors. We have a pair of The Chilling Adventure of Sabrina alumni in the film. The young lead of Ally Andrews is played by Sabrina Spellman herself, Kiernan Shipka. And Miranda Otto, Zelda Spellman in the Sabrina series, is seen in The Silence trailer too. Dan Corbett is also seen in today’s footage. As is Stanley Tucci who we see quite a bit as he plays the male lead in the movie in Ally’s father.

Netflix’s description of The Silence reads “When the world is under attack from terrifying creatures who hunt their human prey by sound, 16-year old Ally Andrews, who lost her hearing at 13, and her family seek refuge in a remote haven. But they discover a sinister cult who are eager to exploit Ally’s heightened senses.”

The Silence’s director, John R. Leonetti, stated that Shipka learned fluent sign language to further immerse herself in the role of Ally Andrews. The story itself for the movie stems from the 2015 horror novel of the same name written by Tim Lebbon. Carey Van Dyke and Shane Van Dyke wrote the adaptation’s script.

Overall, The Silence trailer hints to a movie that show’s promise for Netflix’s ever-evolving horror catalog, and we can’t wait to check it out when it launches on April 10th.
