Yet another one of the many classic sci-fi books will be getting a big screen adaptation, as it has been announced that a The Stars My Destination movie, based on the book of the same name, is currently in the works from Disruption Entertainment.
The essential sci-fi novel was originally published in serialized form for Galaxy Magazine, and it follows the story of Gully Foyle, a merchant traveling through the Solar System who finds himself stranded and eventually imprisoned for unknowingly carrying a highly valuable metal that is important to an ongoing war. After escaping his capture, he sets out to take down those responsible for his imprisonment.
David DiGilio, the man behind Eight Below and the Crossbones series, will write the script.
The movie will hail from Paramount, with Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island, You’re the Worst) set to direct. There’s no word on a release window for the film, but development is still in the early stages, so it’ll be a while yet.
