Trolls Movie Announced by DreamWorks

trolls movieIf you were a 90’s kid, you probably remember seeing more than a few troll dolls. It looks like DreamWorks is aiming for that nostalgia by bringing the trolls to the theaters.

Trolls will be another creation from the team that brought you Shrek. The story is a music-filled comedy centered around Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake). This pair of trolls couldn’t be more opposite from one another, but together they will go on an adventure far beyond the world they know.

The Trolls movie release date is set for November 4, 2016 with a number of notable stars voicing the characters. Joining Kendrick and Timberlake are Gwen Stefani, James Corden, Russell Brand, Icona Pop, Ron Funches and Kunal Nayaar. The stars have taken to their twitter accounts to reveal who each will be playing.

The original troll dolls were created in 1959 by Danish fisherman and woodcutter Thomas Dam. What started as hand-made gift for his daughter quickly grew in popularity with kids throughout Europe. In just a few years, they became extremely successful in the United States as well.

It is looking like 2016 will be jam-packed with animated movies to watch. If you are curious about what other cartoon movies are coming out this year, check out our comprehensive list here.
