Justice League Dark Movie Now Directed by Doug Liman

Justice League DarkJustice League Dark has found a new director! The upcoming ensemble movie takes DC into the realm of magic and oddities as the team deals with darker tones.

According to Variety, Doug Liman is now attached as director of the upcoming Warner Bros. film. Penning the script will be Michael Gilio with Scott Rudin acting as producer.

So far, plot details are scarce, but we do know that the Justice League Dark team consists of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon. While this does mean there will be yet another DC movie focusing on an ensemble cast, this movie should feature a much different tone. In the comics, the team deals a lot more with magic, spirits, death, and multiple dimensions.

Most recently Liman is known for Edge of TomorrowWhile it wasn’t a box office hit, the movie reviewed very well with critics and has quickly developed a sizable fan base. Current’y he is working on another film with Tom Cruise called American Made. It is set to release September 29, 2017.

Guillermo del Toro was originally attached to the project, but became sidetracked by multiple other projects. Currently, he is working hard on a Cold War drama in which he is writing, directing, and producing.
