Square Enix officially announced its release of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age at the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Opening Ceremony event in Tokyo.
The game will launch July 11, 2017 for the PS4 and has been showcased with a beautiful art piece by character designer and artist Akihiko Yoshida.
The new game will appear “like never before” with remastered graphics and will include the previously Japan-exclusive Zodiac Job System, an “improved character leveling system that now caters to the player’s preference.”
The soundtrack will also be included, enhanced to 7.1 surround sound. Improved gameplay features include auto-save, feaster loading times, Trial Mode “take on monsters and enemies in up to 100 consecutive battles”, and Speed Mode.
More From Nerd Much?:
The original game launched in 2006 for the PS2 and takes place in the world of Ivalice, “where the small kingdom of Dalmasca is left in ruin and uncertainty.”
Varying characters come together to make up the player’s team and become a part of the game’s story. The only heir to the throne, Princess Ashe, joins a resistance in order to liberate her country. There she meets Vaan, “a young man who lost his family in the war, dreams of flying freely in the skies.”
