Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package will launch for Nintendo Switch on May 10, as announced by the publisher, Deep Silver, and reported by Gematsu. This game was originally released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC back in November 2011. As the Full Package version, this copy will include all three previously released DLC. Each of these content packs includes around an hour of extra gameplay in the form of new missions and activity types.
Given that Saints Row IV released during August 2013 it seems like a strange choice to port the third game and not the, more modern, fourth entry in the series. It’s particularly odd considering that even the newer game would still be six years old at this point.
When paired with the recent announcement of Assassin’s Creed III remaster coming to Nintendo Switch this trend of last gen game ports is starting to grow old quickly, especially considering the fact that the next generation of Sony and Microsoft consoles is around the corner. The release date for Resident Evil 0, 1, and 4 remasters/bundles are admittedly a bit more exciting.
Still, the Nintendo Switch is lacking in M-rated action-adventure titles. And, especially without Grand Theft Auto, this may be the only way for Nintendo Switch fans to get to enjoy some over the top chaos and violence. The fact that you can take on these rivals gangs alone, or in co-op mode, further adds to the appeal. Lastly, the portability factor is still enough to get some people ready and willing to buy whatever popular titles arrive on the system.
Fans can head back to the City of Steelport (or visit for the first time) when Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package launches on Nintendo Switch May 10, 2019. For even more Nintendo releases, be sure to check out our list of upcoming Switch games.
