A few days ago, I poured my heart and soul into a 10 Reasons Why Miraculous Ladybug is the Best New Cartoon article, eager to share my love of Nickelodeon‘s new series with others. Now, there is more to report about this up and coming show, as Miraculous Ladybug is slated to have a merchandise line AND a movie.
Junior Reporter Lindalee Rose traveled to ZAG Studios in Glendale, California, interviewing the Miraculous team. All “miraculers” should give it a watch:
Lindalee greets Andre Mayer and Addie Dorsey, two ZAG team members who give the reporter a behind the scenes look at Miraculous. Andre Mayer notes that Miraculous is already the #1 kid’s show in South Korea, France, and is gaining popularity in the U.S.
Lindalee then asks, “When are we going to see some toys for Miraculous?” Merchandise is something that many miraculers have been waiting for, so it was very exciting to hear that a toy line will be released in Fall 2016. Some of the toys shown in the video can be seen below (screenshots by loliwinx.tumblr.com):
Not only are Miraculous Ladybug action figures confirmed, there are adorable plushies, purses, puzzles, and even a bed spread. The merchandise announcement was absolutely huge and even as a 21 year old fan, I can say that I’ll probably be buying 90% of this. Who’s with me?
More From Nerd Much?:
The rest of the video consists of an awesome tour of the design side of ZAG, which is definitely better to watch than read about here. This segment starts at around 2 minutes and 40 seconds and is really insightful, explaining the art animation, and graphic design for Miraculous.
Another important announcement from this video is that there will be a Miraculous movie, which is extremely exciting for any fan. Andre showed Lindalee an empty space which will be used by ZAG to produce movies. Although this is all that is said for now, expect more updates as more details are confirmed at a later date.
Finally, at the end of the video, Lindalee asks Andre where viewers can learn more about the series. Andre responds, telling viewers that they are making webisodes to reveal more information about the story, which can be viewed on the official website or Nick.com’s Miraculous page.
Be sure to check out Miraculous Ladybug on Nickelodeon 12PM EST or on Amazon.
