NBC has announced that actor Greg Grunberg will reprise his role as former officer Matt Parkman in the Heroes Reborn series.
Parkman will appear in a guest star arc at some point in the new series, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The telepathic Parkman will rejoin Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), the Haitian and Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman) as the only announced returning characters from the original Heroes series. Conversely, Hayden Panettiere (Claire), Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Parker) and Zachary Quinto (Sylar) have all stated that they won’t be returning to the series, for one reason or another. It’d be cool to see Matt Parkman and Baby Parkman interact now that Baby Parkman has grown up a little, so hopefully that will happen in the show.
Grunberg will also be seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens later this year. He had a run on Masters of Sex last season, and many will also remember him from the L.A. Noire video game, for which he lent his likeness and voice to.
Heroes Reborn is scheduled to debut in the Fall for NBC’s Thursday night line-up, and although some of the main Heroes characters aren’t slated to return, the show sounds promising. Hopefully, Heroes Reborn takes notes form the original show’s first couple of seasons, instead of getting into the weird ideas we saw in Heroes Season 4.
