Mythbusters Revived by Science Channel, Seeking Hosts

Mythbusters RevivedAfter 14 long years, it was hard to see Mythbusters end. How are we supposed to know what urban legends to believe? With Mythbusters revived by the Science Channel, we might be okay.

The only problem is, it won’t be starring Adam and Jamie. The two are what made the show what it was. It’s hard not to associate the two after over a decade of running. How are they going to find someone even remotely close?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Science Channel will run a reality competition series titled Search for the Next Mythbusters. This new show aims to find the next-generation of hosts by testing their skills with numerous challenges.

“When I got to the network, and we clearly identified MythBusters as a franchise and something that was important to Science Channel and Discovery, and it was such a beloved show, I didn’t want to let it go,” says Marc Etkind, general manager of Science Channel. “So we looked really closely at what would be the best way to keep it going and invigorate it and thought, ‘Let’s host a worldwide search for the next MythBusters.'”

If you think you have what it takes, Science Channel is asking people to submit videos with building skills and who are naturally inquisitive. The competition will start with just 15 contestants who will solve challenges involving myths both new and old alike.

What’s really interesting is that they will compete until the final picks are made. This could mean one person or several people. It’s really a unique concept. Either way, we’re glad to see Mythbusters revived.

We highly suggest you go to their website for more details if you are interested. Who knows, maybe we’ll be talking about you soon!
