Middle-Earth: Shadow of War Upcoming Free DLC Detailed
Warner Bros. has announced exactly what we'll be getting and when
Beginning November 21st, the DLC begins following with the release of Endless Siege. The new mode sounds to be a replica of Gears of War‘s Horde stylings. In it, you “defend your fortresses against Sauron’s forces as the Dark Lord tries to reclaim Mordor in the Endless Siege.”
On the same day Shadow of War will also open up the Rebellion mode. It’s described by WB as a mode in which you’ll “Crush the rebel Ologs and Uruks in your forces as they seek to undermine the Bright Lord.”
The final addition to the November 21st update is the inclusion of Enhanced Photo mode. This one appears to be self explanatory, but WB broke it down anyway. “Capture every battle and siege and apply new filters, frames and textures with Enhanced Photo Mode update.” It sounds as if it’s regular old Photo Mode – just enhanced.
Two weeks later on December 5th Warner Bros. will release Online Fight Pits as free content. Here, you’ll have your Orc followers take on another player’s in Overlord v. Overlord gameplay. It’s a fight to the death in which the winning Overlord walks away with “powerful rewards and upgrades.”
The final free update of 2017 comes December 12th. Here we’ll get a new challenge for the core story mode – Brutal Difficulty. It’s described as “a new higher difficulty level even more challenging than Nemesis with no last chances.”
Of course, that isn’t all the content that is coming to Middle-Earth: Shadow of War in 2017. There is plenty of premium content on the way too. You’ll just have to pony up some dough if you want to access that content. You can read all about it and catch the Expansion Pass trailer here.
