Warner Bros. and TT Games have (finally) officially announced Lego DC Super Villains. The duo has released an announcement trailer showing all of the chaos that these baddies are bringing.
At the outset of the game you’ll create your very own villain to adventure with. As you play through the story, you’ll gain new abilities and unlock additional powers that you can continue to customize your character with.
Lego DC Super Villains will have local co-op available for the title’s story mode. The “hilarious and original” narrative was drawn up by TT Games in collaboration with DC. A story that revolves around the following:
“In Lego DC Super Villains, the Justice League has disappeared, leaving Earth’s protection to a newcomer group of heroes from a parallel universe, proclaiming themselves as the ‘Justice Syndicate’. Renowned DC Super-Villains from the ‘Legion Of Doom’ discover Earth’s newest heroes may not be the heroes they claim to be. With each player’s completely customizable Super Villain character in command, this team of misfit lawbreakers must join forces to discover and foil the evil plans the incognito strangers have in store.”
It’s unclear which villains will be prominent in the game. Specifically mentioned in today’s press release were The Joker, Harley Quinn and Lex Luthor. In the trailer and graphics we see a few more, including Poison Ivy, Reverse Flash, Gorilla Grodd and Darkseid.
Warner Bros. and TT Games are promoting their Deluxe Edition of the game which is already available for preorder. In includes all the future Season Pass content that will bring additional villains into the mix. Two of which include the DC Super Villains: TV Series DLC Character Pack and the Justice League Dark DLC Character Pack.
The studios have announced the game will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The villains take over on October 16th.
