A Power Rangers movie seemed unlikely just a few years ago. Now, the franchise may go on for as many as seven movies. Go go Power Rangers!
The CEO of Lionsgate, John Feltheimer, seems to have high hopes for the franchise revival. After the mostly positive response to the new official suits, Feltheimer sees Power Rangers as the next lucrative franchise. “We are really, really excited about the Power Rangers movie. We could see doing five or six or seven,” he says.
More From Nerd Much?:
Whether this is is genuine excitement for what they have or an attempt to build the hype behind the movie, this news is still surprising to hear. We just hope that the series fares better than the Tranformers juggernaut. With those films making so much overseas, they have continued to be released regardless of their quality.
So far, there is little we have seen of the movie. Most of the cast has been released including Elizabeth Banks in her new Rita Repulsa outfit. They also recently released a full look at the final suit design. With less than a year until release, it shouldn’t be too long before we get look at our first trailer.
The Power Rangers movie is scheduled to release on March 24, 2017.
