Netflix’s The Dragon Prince: New, From The Writer of Avatar: The Last Airbender

Hype or hindrance?

From Justin Richmond and Aaron Ehasz (the writer of Avatar: The Last Airbender), comes a new Netflix animated series: The Dragon Prince. This show will tell the story of “two human princes who forge an unlikely bond with the elfin assassin sent to kill them, embarking on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands.” More information will be coming to us soon after their panl July 21st, 2018 at San Diego Comic-Con.

There’s no release date set for this series yet but hopefully we’ll be getting one soon as its already viewable on Netflix’s homepage. Bardel Entertainment is the animation studio behind this series and they’ve combined forces with TV/game studio, Wonderswan to bring us this The Dragon Prince.

Now that the announcement has been made official creatives are taking to Twitter to finally announce their role with this new series. From 3D animators to art directors. But what really stuck out to me was the announcement that Danika Harrod, Waypoint’s former community manager, is now the ” Head of Community Development for Wonderstorm.” She shares her excitement for the upcoming show on Twitter as well as her enthusiasm for the team she’ll be working with:

Harrod is well known for being a professional, empathetic community leader but also a very self-aware “sh*t poster” which she has discussed at length when she guested on the fav this podcast featuring Gita Jackson and Patricia Hernandez at Kotaku (current/former employees, respectively).

What this means is you’re going to want to follow The Dragon Prince Twitter account for updates on the show as well as gems like this:

In short, I am ready for everything related to the announcement of this show. Are you looking forward to it? Or do you think it will be eclipsed by its own resume (i.e Avatar: The Last Airbender)? Let us know in the comments below.
