American Horror Story: Apocalypse Adds 5 More Returning Stars

American Horry Story creator Ryan Murphy has announced that some familiar faces are returning to once again be a part of his now iconic series. American Horror Story: Apocalypse will see the former cast members of Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Stevie Nicks return for Season 8.

While American Horror Story has been described as an anthology series, bits and pieces of the show’s previous 7 seasons have combined to form a greater overall narrative. Ryan Murphy even went on record back in October of 2016 and stated that Season 8 will be a combination of Season 1’s American Horror Story: Murder House and Season 3’s American Horror Story: Coven.

Many of the actors in the series have gone on to play numerous different roles due the show’s anthological nature. In addition to the actors confirmed within Murphy’s recent tweet, we also know that series mainstay Sarah Paulson will return as Cordelia Foxx. Kathy Bates returns as Ms. Meade and Evan Peters comes back too rounding out this season’s leads.

Jessica Lange returns again as Season 1’s Constance Langdon. Also confirmed for Season 8 are Joan Collins, Adina Porter as Dinah Stevens, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman as Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt, Billie Lourd as Mallory, Emma Roberts playing Madison Montgomery, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Kyle Allen, Cody Fern in the role of Michael Langdon, Billy Porter, and Lesley Fera.

During the American Horry Story: Apocalypse TCA panel that recently took place, one of the show’s producers explained what the “Apocalypse” meant within the Season 8 title. Said producer was Alexis Martin Woodall, who stated “The story begins with the end of the world, and then our world begins.” Perhaps some sort of witchcraft from Coven helps to raise the dead that we see in the show’s first season?

American Horror Story returns to FX with Season 8’s American Horror Story: Apocalypse on Wednesday September 12th. We don’t have much to go on at this point, but FX did release the first teaser trailer just yesterday:
